Sõõru (Sõõrd)
Synonym, or near as dammit, of ale (see Alemaa), assart (i.e. land cleared and burned for cultivation) or, in some dialects, a small fenced meadow, often a clearing, prior to assarting. Part of a land-clearing group of streets, which pretty clearly excludes its other meaning of flow of milk from a teat. See also Tulimulla.
Tuki (Tukk)
Firebrand, piece of smoldering wood (not to be confused with tukk:tuka, tuft of hair, bang [US], forelock, or tukk:tuku, nap, forty winks, or tükk:tüki, piece, lump, chunk, etc. Part of a fire, fire-making and fireplace group, see Tulekivi. Also part of a land-clearing group of streets, see also Aedvere. Tukk:tuki is also a slang term for pistol, something else you fire, but see Hiiu-Suurtüki.
Tulimulla (Tulimuld)
Scorched earth. More in the slash-and-burn than military sense, so soil made fertile from the ash washed into the earth. Part of a land-clearing group of streets, see also Tuki. Tulimuld was also the name of an expat (exile?) Estonian media/culture magazine from 1950-1991. I’m sure there a symbolism in Estonia’s penchant for scorched earth references somewhere.
