Reindorffi G.
(Günther-Friedrich Reindorff, 1889-1974)
Estonian typographer and graphic designer. In 2008, the Estonian State bank issued a 10-krooni collector banknote (i.e. was desperate for cash) featuring an identical copy of the front of its pre-war granddaddy designed by Reindorff (for information on Estonian currency, see Krooni). Street seems to have existed from 1982-1989.
Leberechti H.
(Hans Leberecht, 1910-1960)
Estonian writer, born and raised (essentially) in Russia and couldn’t speak a word of Estonian, winner of the 1949 Stalin Prize (third class) for his 1948 novel Свет в Коорди (Light in Koordi) about clearing a bog (and planting red flags) on a collective farm, where the bourgeois, imperialist, counter-revolutionary, kulak villain can be identified by his ownership of... a pot-plant. HL once lived in this street (No.20). Soviet occupation renaming (1960-1990) of Ugala.
