Vahtramäe (Vahtramägi)
Maple hill. It’s flat... This is also the translation of Astrid Lindgren’s children’s books about Emil of Lönneberga, where lönne and berg are Swedish for maple and mount, reviving the eternal question as to the meaning of mägi:mae: never a mountain when in Estonia, usually a hill, but more often the higher ground upon which a farmstead is built on frequently marshy land. See for Mäe discussion.
