Names
Väike-Männiku (Väike-Männik)
Lesser Pine wood/grove. Like its shorter brother, Suur-Männiku, on the other side of Männiku tee, what looks like another service road leading to an industrial estate.
Väike-Õismäe (Väike-Õismägi)
Lit. Little Flower/Blossom hill. See Õismäe.
Väike-Paala (Väike-Paala)
Little-, lesser Paala. Street parallel to Suur-Paala about 200 m further east. It seems that the city went on a renaming binge in 1939 and changed this to Navesti, one of the various alternatives to Paala / Pala, giving it another parallel, but not getting it any closer to the site of Lembit’s last stand. See Suur-Paala.
Väike-Pääsukese (Väike-Pääsuke[ne])
Lesser swallow street. Another odd one. Like its bigger brother Pääsukese, the name is barely used, and the solitary street sign of its unpronounceable name is positioned in the most out-of-the-way place possible.
Väike-Patarei (Väike-Patarei)
After the former ‘Patarei’ marine fortress. Formerly spelled Väike-Batarei (1908-1925) or Veike-Battarei (1885). See Suur-Patarei.
Väike-Sõjamäe (Väike-Sõjamägi)
Southernmost of the three, see Sõjamäe.
